The Museum is conveniently located at the centre of Athens, near the main tourist attractions, especially the Acropolis, a short walk from the museums of the Plaka district, near some of the best hotels of the city. This makes the Museum easily accessible, especially to foreign visitors, as it fits so easily into a short or longer tour of the city’s sights.

All of the Museum’s visitor services, exhibitions, events, educational programmes and its library are available to the public. However, access to its archives and artefacts in storage is limited only to researchers, following a written application.
