This year marks the eightieth anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. Few witnesses remain alive to share their personal experiences of the relentless persecution and genocide of Europe’s Jews. Thus, audiovisual archives with recorded testimonies of survivors have become even more valuable.
In this context, the Jewish Museum of Greece presents an important testimony from its Oral History Archive: excerpts from the testimony of Zanet Nahmia, a survivor of Auschwitz, who recently passed away, closing the chapter of living witnesses in Ioannina. The video also features other voices, including researcher Alexis Menexiadis and Zanet Nahmia’s childhood friend, Nina Negrin, also an Auschwitz survivor.
