New Virtual Reality Application

The Jewish Museum of Greece presents and invites you to “live” the VR experience entitled “548 days with another name“, in the Museum’s premises.

The film is based on Rosina Pardo’s diary, which was the starting point and inspiration for the script, in which the participants become the protagonists.

Rosina Asser Pardo, a Holocaust survivor, lived during the war with her family in Thessaloniki, where 96% of the Jewish population was deported to concentration and extermination camps and the majority of them were murdered, including 13,000 children. In order to save themselves, Rosina’s family is forced to take refuge in a Christian home with the help of family friends. Miraculously, they are not arrested, even though the house where they hide for 18 months is located on a main street in Thessaloniki, on Tsimiski Street near the German headquarters. In her hiding place, Rosina decided to write a diary and for the next 548 days, as long as their hiding period lasted, she wrote as often as she could, signing her fake name, Roula Karakotsou.

The film of the VR experience was selected and took part in this year’s Thessaloniki International Documentary Film Festival. Production manager is the director Yolanda Markopoulou. You can find more information, as well as the trailer of VR experience.
