Visit of the President of the Holocaust Education Center of Japan to the Jewish Museum of Greece
The President of the Holocaust Education Centre of Japan, based in Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture, Mr. Makoto Otsuka, together with his wife Takako, paid two visits to the Jewish Museum of Greece during this period.
Mr. Otsuka and his wife were given a tour of the Museum by the director of the JMG, Ms. Zanet Battinou, followed by a detailed briefing on the educational programs, training courses, and activities related to the Holocaust offered by the Jewish Museum of Greece. Mr. Otsuka expressed his enthusiasm for the achievements of the Museum and the Research Center.
The first visit of the Otsuka couple coincided with an event of the JMG Association of friends’, when they met JMG president Miki Modiano, treasurer Sergio Mordo, the president of the Jewish Community of Athens and JMG Board member Alberto Taramboulous and the veteran member of the Council of the American Friends of the JMG Dr. Dimitris Argyriadis. In a cordial atmosphere, greetings and impressions of Mr. Otsuma’s visit to the Jewish Museum of Greece were exchanged.
During his second visit, Mr. Otsuma stressed his desire for direct cooperation between the Holocaust Education Center Japan and the JMG.
